Research clearly shows that later start time significantly improves students’ overall performance. It also seems to indicate that mid morning class performance on tests was better than afternoon classes. The biggest factor affecting student performance was absences. From my own experience I have found that student perform is better during mid morning classes; because they are able to concentrate better, and they are not absent due to morning procedures or school related activities.

I agree with this. If we have later school hours. Students will be more awake and willing to learn. Unlike earlier school hours. Students are tired, fall asleep in class, and don’t want to learn.

All of this is very true! It’s finally my Senior year and when I first started high school, I was scared. But once I decided to join clubs and get involved, you do realize school spirit is KEY to a great high school experience and overall, I have had the best four years!

From what I’ve seen, some schools in other states already have this policy and it seems to work out great for them.
